12th Day in Atlanta

First 12 days in Atlanta Georgia, has been super hectic settling in, buying grocery, IKEA-ing, shopping, and amusing.

Journeying to the West

Transit at Incheon Airport. It was freezing cold in the airport, snowy outside. Waited for 4 hours there.

Settling In

The apartment I stay. Has a nice kitchen and cosy living room (though under utilised).

First 3 days here had no blanket, pillow nor bedsheet. My winter jacket was my makeshift pillow, and a super thin piece of cloth as "blanket". We weren't very good at setting the air conditioner yet, and I was cold~~~. End up wrapping myself in 2 layer of tops, bottoms, and socks. Until IKEA came to my rescue.

The school has pretty cool recreation center, hopefully that will motivate me to exercise more... spare the swimming part. Interesting to see trees all 光秃秃, and squirrels jumping around. First reaction was "ooh! so cute!". Unfortunately the unromantic side of me quickly jumped in to say "do they bite? and, they are a kind of mice and rats. So it is totally illogical to say squirrels are cute while their counterpart are disgusting."

Amusing

Still amused by the huge portion of food here. The waffle set was 1/3 of its original which I had da-bao for next day's breakfast. Original portion was 1 full waffle, 2 eggs, 2 bread, 1 huge hash brown, 3 bacon.

The school's dining hall can DIY waffle, and so my apt mate & I tried... totally 丑. Now I feel blessed when I see a nicely done waffle.

Also amazed, I my apt mate's stash of food, how did she manage to squeeze all that into her luggage?! 3 pack noodles, 2 pack beehoon, cereal drink, milo, coffee, salt, chicken rice seasoning... Compared to my tiny 2 packet of noodles... I feel lousy.

Continue amusing... the huge bra size here. Haha. my hand is not small, but next to a 44DD... hmm.

My favourite, the power socket. when do you get to see Shocked-Face-Socket everyday. Feel like laughing every time I see it, and I have a tiny urge to make a face back to it.

The coins here are weird too, why is 10cents smaller than 1 cents and 5 cents??? And why is there a 25cents? So confusing.

It is also interesting to see a how much GT merchandise there are. It is every where, including plaster. The clinic here give funny plasters.

Shopping

How can I not get the GT merchandise? 那就太对不起这里了... and so I did... a kid's size sweater for myself.

A Levi's jeans for USD27, a pair of Tommy Hilfiger wedge for USD13, H&M jeans at USD11. Done more shopping in 2 weeks than 1 year quota back at home. So guilty... need to 反省反省.

That's all for now. Next time post on stone mountain trekking.
