Watched alot of movies, in cinema, and at home. Here's a list of them.

死神的秘密 Accuracy of Death (2008)

The Biggest attraction would be Takeshi Kaneshiro 金城武. So handsome 死神 lo! So handsome that mama want to watch it. Yeah, and so, me went to watch this with mama. hahah. It is a "funny" film. Alot of funny 对白 make the entire cinema LOL. Enjoyable!!!! Go watch it!

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008)

Won a pair of ticket and watch with SL. Personally I think this is better than the first one, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005). Maybe because this one is more war-film-like. But kinda missed the lion... Would be better if it has a heavier role. More memorable scenes include the beginning, where Prince Caspian ride a horse across the river (very nice filmography), and towards the end, where the river "Roar~~~" and drown the people. hhaha.

Iron man (2008)

This is like the Ironman version of "Batman: The Beginning". Detailing how Tony Stark becomes Ironman. Maybe because I am not familiar with ironman, the movie is not too captivating to me. Maybe the next one will be better.

Doomsday (2008)

Alot of gore... I kill you, you chase me, I slash him, he stab her. Grr... Alot of killing, but little plot. Killing for the sake of killing. The trailer is good, but the movie is not as nice.

三国之见龙卸甲 Three Kingdoms: Resurrection Of The Dragon (2008)

By Andy Lau! Perhaps has too high an expectation for it, that's why abit disappointed also. Even to a person who didn't know 三国志 well, some parts of the film seem abit rediculous, can't imagine what 三国志's fans would think. Haha. The only "oooh~" factor is that I finally understand what "见龙卸甲" means after watching till the end. hahahah!!!

10,000 BC (2008)

It is a movie about time travel+dinosaur+adventure. But is abit disappointed after watching it, it seem like a mix-&-match of Jurrasic Park+Star gate, yet no where near both.

老师嫁老大 Ah Long Pte Ltd (2008)

One of the three CNY movies this year, which is the only one that I gave a miss previously. Thought that it is a repetition of a korean movie having a similar theme. After watching, can see the difference. And the 笑点 are there. Quite funny for if you just want a relaxing-laugh-out-loud-time.

Transformers (2007)

This is nice!! If you go for action packed movie, this is the one. And the witty conversations of the HUGE transformer makes the movie not boring at all. Very fun to watch!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2007)

Erm... this is abit... lame. hahah!!! An average film only, unless you are a huge ninja turtle fan.

Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977)

Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983)

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999)

Star Wars is very nice... I am only left with one more Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005) to complete the legendary trilogy and prequel of the movie industry. All sci-fic fan should watch them, although it takes abit of time and stamina to finish it.

OMG!!!
Everyone ought to listen to this!!!!!! This is what I have been looking forward to. I have been hoping (and hoping) that 华研 will do justice to him. Let him sing something that is suitable for him, and not pure commercial-song. And was really looking forward to Yoga singing 李泉's work. ARGH!!! This is worth the wait.

Food Poisoned - Continue

8 days into the start of my food poisoning, 7-&-1/4 days into the last time I had diarrhoea due to food poisoning, I had another horrible episode of diarrhoea just now. At the same time, a uncomfortable urge to vomit.

I seriously do not know what's going on. The horrible pain in the abdomen reminds me of what RJ said... the virus is still in him, feeling bloated all the time. As well as CS saying, food poison can linger for very long. Might be... but I certainly hope not.

Diarrhoea is horrible, I almost fainted... yes, again. Exactly the same feeling as a week ago. Sat in the toilet feeling like I was striped off every gram of content in the intestine. Feeling week, perspiring like a can of cold coke in room temperature. At the same time, the feel of throwing out coupled to make it even more unbearable. Then, things started to spin and vision became blur. I knew I ll collapse if I carry on in there. So finished off everything I can in the fastest possible speed and ran to living room to lie down. Continue having cold-sweat, and heart beating fast.

After the fainting sensation fade away, the urge of vomit came. I rushed to the toilet again. All that got threw out was water and 保济丸 that I had moments ago. Someone save me... But I was all alone at home.

I hurried to the sofa to lie again before my vision blur out. Moments after, gathered all my strength to search for the 止吐药. One after another, I popped sour plum into my mouth to curb the feel of vomit.

Fortunate enough, that was the "latest" last time I vomit/泻肚子, and managed to sleep for a couple of hours. But I am currently feeling weak. My stomach still churning and aching. I couldn't stand up for more than 5min. Pain start crawling up my stomach, and my heart beats fast whenever I try to stand.

What is going on? I really don't know.

Food Poisoned

2nd week into holiday, I was food poisoned... I assumed.

2 days ago, after coming home, and 2hours of nap, I started vomiting at 8pm+, throwing out everything I had ate since morning. Vomited a total of 9 to 10 times... I lost count around the 5th time. Was too weak to walk, or eat, or see doctor. Mama made me ginger juice to stop the vomiting. Yes, was better after throwing out a round of ginger juice.

Almost dawn, I woke from my sleep to rush to the toilet, yup, diarrhoea time. Sat there for so long I cant keep myself straight, and so rested my head on the handrail. Somewhere in time, I feel like I cannot make it anymore, and rushed out of the toilet to rest on sofa before I faint off.

I tried calling out to Papa, but the voice was too soft to be heard. And so I fell asleep on the sofa till morning.

Hmm... I still don't know what's the thing I ate that made me sick, seem like my friends and family ate what I ate too. Haiz... might just be a spot of it that is contaminated maybe.

Food poison seem so common nowadays, mama & papa just got it two weeks back, my friend a month ago, mama's colleague couple of week back.

Today, I am gonna 重点介绍 one of my recent 新欢. Yea yea, I know I am very very slow to only notice about him now, but 迟到好过没到，现在知道好过永远不知道. And I believe there are still "busy" people "like me", who are too involved in our work that we didnt follow entertainment news. So, anyway, here is it...

Let's welcome..... 林宥嘉 (Lin2 You4 Jia1, aka Yoga)

He is the champion from Season 1 of 超级星光大道, a Taiwanese singing competition. Unlike, American Idol or Project Superstar, the results are 100% based on judges, not public voting. Season 1 took place from beginning of 2007 till July2007. (Yea, so it was a long time ago le. But I realised I should be trapped in pulau bukit ulu ntu, battling with unit ops and CRE and heat & mass transfer during that period of time. So it was totally, completely, absolutely understable why I was not paying any attention to the program. Plus I don't find anything attractive from it.)

I only noticed of this person when I was listening to 933 龙虎榜 few weeks back, a song called "背影" caught my attention. (I am emphasizing this to show that his singing is good, not because of look or any other thing.) After searching for the song, and listening to more songs from this singer... Argh!!! 惊为天人... I like his voice! Sooooo 好听! By the way, he only has 3 of his own songs by now, 1 "那首歌", 2 "背影", and 3 "传说" (Duet with 刘力扬). First album is scheduled to be release this coming May.

Aside: Although he is the champion, but the person who received more attention was another guy called 杨宗纬. Look it up yourself if you are interested.

I watched more of his competition videos, and here are some of them.

His first song, "那首歌"

The song he sang during the final of 超级星光大道, "Creep" by Radiohead. So special song to sing during competition.

The song that got him attention. "走钢索的人" by 李泉. One small side note, although I only heard very very few songs by Li Quan, but I kind of like him, his songs are very special. He wrote a song called "人生长路" for Andy Lau loooong time ago. It is really nice.

Another song that got him 25/25 full mark. And the song became very popular after that. "你是我的眼" by 萧煌奇.

Recess & Movies

Had a busy recess, rushing assignments and reports. Put aside the yucky workloads, lazy me had still slacked enough to watch a few movie DVDs, Youtube, etc... So, instead of describing my horrible struggle with assignments, I shall say abit on the stuff I had watched.

美味关系 (Sweet Relationship)
A Taiwan Drama Series directed by 瞿友宁, cast 周渝民，侯佩岑，柯有纶，赖雅妍. Trust me, this is not the "normal" 偶像剧. Because it is very not 偶像. Both the setting and the plot is very everyday, the pace is abit slower than action packed series, (cant expect everyday life to be so action packed right), the people are not rich, they don't wear nice clothes and drive expensive car. I finally finished watching this series, during the break. FYI, it has just finished telecasting in Taiwan about a month ago. 20 episodes in all, If you have the luxury of bout 30hours to spare, and the mood to watch, go watch this. Is a less publicized series, but it is very nice.

长江七号 (CJ7)
This movie need no more introduction. One of the three 贺岁片 this CNY. It was rated as the best among the three, and best selling among the three. Although some said CJ7 is not as funny as Stephen Chou's previous movies, but after watching, I can say some parts are pretty funny. And the alien dog is real cute. 周星驰 also said that this movie is to make audience cry, he purposely had some touching scenes. Hmm.. yea, I was quite touched. But then, right after the touching part, the movie ended a little abruptly. Was expecting something more... But... it ended. Imperfection exist.

功夫灌篮 (Gong Fu Dunk)
The other of the three 贺岁片. Not bad a movie for 朱延平. I am not a big fan of Jay Chou, but I realise he is good at acting those-nerd-nerd-character. Very funny. Basically the movie is all about him, Jay and Jay and more Jay. Maybe the director think that getting to film Jay is such a great honour and rare chance, must make FULL use of it. But then again, if you wanna put it in a nice way, you can say the movie is very Focus (Hahaha! All about 自言其说). The only abit redundant part I think, is towards the end, where the four 师傅 come out and fight... I was abit "Har" when I saw that. It was a good fighting scene, but don't seem to fit the story. But overall, it is nice. Won't waste your precious 2hours if you watch it.
色.戒 (Lust. Caution)
This was sometime ago le. But only had the chance to watch it now. Hmm... I think... the movie is abit over publicized. It is a good movie I don't deny, but it received far more appraisal than what it should be getting. I think is because of the director (Hey... people is BIG director lo!!! Got Oscar leh!) and the few scenes by Tony Leung (Hey... people is 大明星 lo!!! Got many awards leh! And 为艺术大牺牲 lo!!!). Yea, and so... that's how you get the HUGH 色.戒 phenomenon. But then, again... it is good. (Side track abit, someone said it is 不好看 & very bored... Hmm... I guess is because that person don't fully understand the context, maybe is the language barrier.)

Today went to Sentosa Flowers 2008 春节花会 with my parents. It was quite nice, so you may go take a look before it ends on 17Feb, especially if you like flowers. Amazingly, I took 97 pictures!!! That is alot considering me not taking photos for a very long time already. In fact, I think is one of the most pictures I took in a occasion in the past few years. And horribly, they are not very nice. I really am not good at flowers. Anyway, here are a few better ones, among the many blurrrr images.

Today is Saturday, just a few days before CNY, and only two days of "Journey to the West" to go.

The work load is horror. Just after completing smeagol's martial scripts and battling with the roundish monster, this weekend is for preparing the next battle with smeagol. What's more? Sun Wu Kong add into the fun too! To make it even more exciting, roundish monster's martial arts script is due after CNY, so is the martial trainings report.

Ok... Till this point in time, I am sure you can deduce (or maybe not deduce, is confirm, guarantee plus chop) that I am going mad (no... is already mad-ed... with the past tense).

2 Weeks... Plus Chalet 2008 Photos

It's 2 weeks into new semester. And already feeling old and tired.
The cycle of Unit ops -> Modeling -> Process control -> Lab -> Friday 6hour lecture is going to repeat itself again and again for the coming weeks.

And this sem, I need to travel 3hours a day (the faithful supporter of SMRT and SBS). And being back home means... I've to wash 4 persons clothes instead of 1, and the huge temptation from my dear TV. Roar~ bad.

Oh! Did I mentioned there is a 小胖 in the making? Horror horror... I've been craving for unhealthy tibits and food nowadays... munching non-stop. Roar~ bad.

Eh~ what have I missed out...??? OH!!! I said I ll post pictures of the chalet! Here is it...

2008 Begins

Just like all other years that walked into history, 2007 came to an end and 2008 beings. For me, just like all other years/months/weeks/days/hours/minutes/seconds... I continue to grow older. Much occured in the past one year, and much start and await me in the future.

2007
The most significant had gotta be the second-half year of industrial attachment. With sweat/blood/grumbles/screams/roars/laughters/gossips and much more, the memories would stay for many years to come.
Come to think of it, first-half of the year (Yr2Sem2) was great too.So stressed, yet had much fun in the midst of struggling. Oh! Did I mention the June chalet?? Hahhaa.

2008
This gotta be the best way to start 2008. Chalet with SZ, ZR, ML, CS, H, TK, RJ, JB, R, L, & CF. I shall wait for ML for her picture before I blog more on the chalet.
Another important contribution of the chalet, is that the combine nagging finally made me 下定决心 to do something about my abnormal body temperature (more specifically cold hands & feet plus purple finger & toe nails). I was diagnosed with 贫血 & bad blood circulation from a 中医 visit just now. Will approach 西医 if the 中医 way dun work out.
As for my spine problem, I might be seeing doc for that too.

Oh! New Year Resolution...
Better health for me and my family and friends.
Work harder for my new semester. Hopefully my rusty brain can start up quickly and be in good condition.
So far that's about it.

This holiday has passed really FAST~~~ Before I knew it, it has come to the final week of holiday. Sorta nervous going back to school. But anyway, here's a post on the few movies I watched over the past weeks.


The Warlords 《投名状》- Showing Now


I think this movie needs no further introduction. Its advertisement is everywhere. I would say, Go Watch It!!!! It is 很好看. But maybe if your mood is not very good then choose another day to watch, because the tone of the movie is kinda 凝重.

Oh! I like the colour of the movie too. Watch it and you'll know what I mean. And did I mention I brought my parents to watch the movie with me? Sometimes we just forget about the most important and 无可取代 persons in our lives.


The Painted Veil - (2006)


Is a movie by Naomi Watts and Edwards Norton, and 黄秋生 also has a small role in it. It is about a young girl marrying a microbiologist for the sake of escaping from her parents' nagging. The nerdy biologist couldn't give her the attention and love that she wants. And not long after the marriage, she has an affair with another guy.

The biologist knew of the affair and offer her a few "options". 1) To divoice her (in that era, is very unacceptable and her parents will be very angry), and 2) Her to go along with him to a village in China plague by Cholera. And so, unwillingly, she went to the village with him.

There, the girl begins to realise the kindness of her husband through others. The initial Barbie-doll-girl learn grew stronger, helping out with the orphanage while the husband help the sick. And slowly... their love rekindle. Unfortunately, the husband was found to be ill with cholera...


The Knot 《云水瑶》- (2006)


By 陈坤 徐若瑄 李冰冰 归亚蕾. Set in 1940s' Taiwan. Bout a couple of young lovers who got separated because the guy is involved in communism. And so... The spent much of left searching for each other.


Gattaca - (1997)


Directed and written by Andrew Niccol, starring Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman and Jude Law (when he is still new and not-famous). This is really Classic and Good! About a world determined by science and DNA, about the battle of spirit vs science.

In a world where human are engineered for perfection, Vincent Freeman (Ethan Hawke) was a natural birth (aka Invalid). People like him with defective genes are second (or very low) class citizens. For him to fulfill his dream, he has no other choice than to be someone else.

This is a very original film, a classic example often quoted in the debate of Genetic Engineering. Oh, in case you are curious what is "Gattaca", it is the name of the leading outerspace navigating company in the film, and it comes from the 4 nucleotides of DNA, Adenine, Cytosine, Guanine, and Thymine.

More of holiday!

This holiday has been fulfilling. Perhaps because of its 得来不易, because of the long wait, because of alot of people.

Like few days back, Mousey JY organised a visit to the Army Museum. It's good! Visiting places I've never been to. And even better to have RJgg being the walking information counter.

13 Dec 2007. 范玮琪《哲学家》校园音乐派对 @ SP Auditorium. This is the 2nd time I went to SP for campus concert. The 1st time is with Mousey JY to watch 张韶涵, this time is with TK. And also the 2nd time I watch Fan Fan live singing. She is as thin as ever, and her live singing is GooD! She has this extra powerful voice like a loudspeaker. Oh! Did I mention she is very funny?

GoodBye to IA

Today is officially the 1st weekday after my 23 weeks Industrial Attachment ended. It is a stay home rainy day. Good for sleeping and watching tv. After sleeping and before I start watching tv, here am I posting pictures I took last friday, my last day at my IA company.
